During our documentary on effect of discrimination among our communities,we came across an incident we are told happened in 2017 which is so pathetic and unacceptable.

A young man by name Anwar Ismail who was at that point a farmer and a butcher had to abandon his dreams and aspirations and flee for his life because he was accused of practicing Gay, according to information,Anwar and his friend Broda, were attacked and nearly lynched by a community in Accra who suspected them of practicing homosexuality,an act which is illegal by the law, culture and religion, from a vivid account,Anwar and wife Zakiya together with his friend Broda are no where to be found and their whereabout actually unknown.

The continues pressure, discrimination, attacks and abuse on Anwar noble parents has cost the death of the father who himself supported the abuse of the son for religious reason leaving his poor stepmother to the mercy of humilation and discrimination,we then took opportunity to speak to Ali who is a community youth leader to find out why such incident are becoming rampant in the community as the situation of Anwar is one out many occurrences,Ali made it clear to us that,Gay is evil against our believe in the Muslim community, but the youth taken the laws in to their own hands with anger to attack suspects are highly unacceptable.

Ali added that, any person who will be caught in this act should rather be reported to the police to be dealt with accordingly, since Gay practice is unlawful in this country,we could not engage any relative to become the only surviving stepmother who took care of him after the death of his biological mother has also passed on .

Ali wish the community will stop attacking this people by themselves and rather use the right way to deal with such issues that the dear life of people like Anwar becomes a pity and a threat since it has become news in most of our communities.
